From the year 2000 to 2003 Dr. Burfeind developed PEM-fuel cells and electrolyzer at the h2-interpower. The last 7 years Dr. Burfeind was head of high temperature PEM (HT-PEM) working Group at center for fuel cell technology (ZBT) Duisburg. From March 2011 to February 2012 Dr. Burfeind worked at ReVolt GmbH Dortmund in the field of reversible zinc air batteries. Dr. Burfeind coordinates the development at the German facility in Dortmund. Since March 2012 Dr. Burfeind works at Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT as a function of group manager for electrochemical storage and battery development.
