Summary:

The presentation is about the technology research project „kV-Batt-Tech“, funded by the support program „progress.nrw – Innovation“.
After an introduction into the application and global requirements of stationary battery systems, the presentation deals with the motivation for high-voltage battery system with system voltages higher than 1000 V DC.
Advantages in efficiency and possibly also in cost of material are discussed in this section.
In the following, some challenging engineering issues related with the high DC voltage are discussed, such as the number of connected cells in series and the influences on the system design. Also, engineering questions regarding high voltage are presented.
The presentation concludes with the introduction of the project consortium and the corresponding work packages; ending with some acknowledgements to the funding project supporters.
