Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Jossen
Technische Universität München
His work is related to fundamental model development as well as experimental work to determine parameters and to verify the models. Research work is also done in cooperation with other departments, as Physic or Chemistry. Within this interdisciplinary work fundamental measurement methods (as neutron diffraction) are brought together with battery technology to observe and investigate fundamental battery internal mechanism. Such fundamental work is used to develop improved battery models, taking aging effects into account. These models are used to optimize operation methods of storage systems with the target to minimize overall costs.
